Roses for Autism has been working hard to build a sensory garden for the community to enjoy. A sensory garden can be therapeutic and educational for a variety of individuals especially those with disabilities that affect their sensory responses as is the case with Autism.
A sensory garden is a way of communicating with nature and stimulating community members through their senses, promoting social inclusion for any individual with or without disabilities and can be utilized as an aid in healing and meditation.
Our labor of love is coming along nicely but we need your help to finish and open it to the public. On June 24, 2017, we are hosting an Autism Awareness Family Fun Day and Sensory Garden Ribbon Cutting. The event will take place from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. Enjoy food samples, give greenhouse and sensory garden tours, music, raffles and family activities.
