Yale Jazz Ensemble Big Band, Wayne Escoffery, Music Director. Celebrating the centennial of the birth of bassist and composer Charles Mingus, one of the most important composers in jazz and the first African American musician to have the entire body of his work acquired by the Library or Congress. Featuring Mingus hits “Nostalgia in Times Square,” “Goodbye Pork Pie Hat,” “Moanin’,” and more. With guests Teddy Horangic ’25 on vocals and Alaman Diadhiou ’23 on vocals and tap dance.
