The Limelite Project -- Girls for Girls - a Fashion Dance Soiree -- The Woodwinds - June 6th - 6-10PM
I started this non profit this year with my high school dance team students it is completely run and organized by 12 girls from Guilford and Madison.
I had the idea of having my dance team of 70 girls perform while doing a fashion show but not just any fashion show a ROLE MODEL fashion show.
Our role models were nominated by essays from local girls between grade 5-12 that demonstrate kindness take initiative have shown bravery and are just great kids. We have 45 models for our event. The Event will take place at Woodwinds in Branford on June 6th and the community support has outstanding. A three course dinner, free beer tasting, as well as a beautiful show featuring an all youth cast, even our Master of Ceremonies is Jake Gladwin, a senior at Guilford High School, and a favorite in all the local plays
We have Flutterby and As unique boutique from Guilford and Ciao Bella in Madison dressing our models The Birds Nest Gallery of Guilford is doing hair and makeup, Flowers on the Green decorations and Catherine Kiernan photography and so many more businesses have donated services as well.
The students raised over $10,000 in sponsorships and over $20,000 in silent auction items for our Beautiful Girl Empowering gala. Our whole message supports building confidence, showcasing inner beauty and girl power!
So many people are believing in these young women making a difference
All proceeds go to Women and Family Life Center and we are hoping to raise between $15,000 -20,000 for them.
