Creating Your Mandala Workshop

This workshop will introduce the history of the Mandala, its purpose and its uses in contemporary society. Studio time will be spent exploring personal imagery in its relationship to the mandala format. Various media will be available and some discussion and sharing of experiential processes will enrich our creative endeavors. As a sign, symbol, or metaphor - the mandala maps the psyche and the cosmos as sacred places that remind us of the sanctity of the universe and the potential for enlightenment through the creative process. Explore your own narrative in visual form and discover the never ending myriad of Mandalas that reside within. Teaching Artist, Diana S, Boehnert, BFA, MFA, CAGS. Creator and former Coordinator of the ART for Healing Program, Integrative Medicine Dept. at Hartford Hospital and current faculty member at The Graduate Institute. She has taught at SCSU, MCC, and The Omega Institute. The investigation of the Mandala’s potential in her own work and the spiritual aspects it offers, through the work and the sharing of her experience, has held her interest for many years. The circle of learning and teaching completes the commitment to the ultimate goal that is the circle of community.
