    We are seeking a Controller to join the Vista team in leading day-to-day finance operations, including accounting, payroll, benefits, accounts payable, accounts receivable, regulatory, funding compliance, and audit functions linked to the organization. 

    This Full-Time position, eligible for benefits and paid time off (PTO), is based at our Madison, CT campus.
     
    Responsibilities for a Controller include, but are not limited to:

    • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards, nonprofit accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
    • Ensure that internal controls and safeguards are in place for monitoring and managing revenues, expenses and capital expenditures.
    • Oversee the organization’s cash balances and cash flow forecasting.
    • Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes.
    • Provide direct supervision of Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and other personnel as assigned.
    Education and Experience Requirements for a Controller include a Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of related experience in accounting, finance and/or business management. Vista values the work experience of applicants and therefore, may waive the Bachelor level of the educational requirement of a position in lieu of a strong work background in a related field.

    Essential Requirements for a Controller include, but are not limited to:
    • Valid driver’s license and maintain acceptable driving record
    • Knowledge and skills in MS Office, accounting software and payroll systems
    • Working knowledge of GAAP, nonprofit and fund accounting
    • Experience working with government funding agencies is advantageous

    Salary: starting at $75,000 per year (based on experience and qualifications).
